Today is Groundhog day. In Buffalo that always means six more weeks of Winter…so lets embrace some winter love!

Buffalo’s Winter Love

engagement couple There’s something very cozy about a warm hug on a cold and snowy day. Although winter engagement sessions can be logistically difficult, I love the beauty and love that comes across when a couple snuggles to keep warm. These first three images with Ariel and Andrew captured their essence at Delaware Park in Buffalo. Furthermore, we could really feel the love between these two. With overcast skies to diffuse the sunlight and a blanket of freshly fallen snow that acts as a reflector. The soft natural light was a perfect match to project a feeling of Bliss.

One of favorite winter activities in western New York state has to be ice skating. For those of us who live in or around Buffalo the popular place to be is the rink at Canalside in downtown. Briana and Dan are both accomplished skaters, so Canalside was a perfect backdrop for their engagement shoot. They are true free spirits full of life and love, which came through in these shots. We were able to get on the ice early on a Sunday morning before the rink opened up to the public. Having the ice to themselves let them showoff their skills and project their unbridled personalities.

Winter weddings also have that special and magical feel of being in an enchanted snow globe. These snowy images of Vanessa and Taylor shone through while at Chestnut Ridge Park in Orchard Park NY. The romantic dreaminess of the images is what makes winter weddings and engagements special.
