Rainy wedding day? Umbrellas make great props.
Rain doesn’t always need to come another day.
Today’s topic is brought to you by the view out my office window. It seems like it rains every day lately. I think the thought of rain on her wedding day in the cause of much anxiety for brides. Everyone wants the perfect day with perfect weather. The simple fact is sometimes it rains. But have no fear. The umbrellas are here! We always tell our couples that umbrellas make great props. In Steve and Courtney’s case, they bought everyone in their wedding party cheap five dollar umbrellas. The funny thing about rain is that sometimes it’s accompanied by wind, especially at Hamburg Beach on the Buffalo waterfront. Opening umbrellas in the wind always makes for a fun shot.
Take a look at these!
Beautiful Jeannine and her lovely bridesmaids look happy and dry under their matching umbrellas. This was a very dark and dreary day at Niagara University. I overexposed the image to help brighten the mood.
Ashley and Steve didn’t let a rainy wedding day dampen their spirits. Here they are in the village of historic East Aurora making the best of a soggy situation.
The Liberty Building in downtown Buffalo in a fitting backdrop for this shot from Shauna and Mike’s inclement wedding. They both work in the office building where they met.
A damp Delaware Park Rose Garden was the pretty setting for the wedding photos with Kari and JB.
Were going back to Courtney and Steve’s wedding day for this image. It was still raining when the celebration kicked off at Lucarelli’s Banquet Center. This sunny yellow umbrella was spared the carnage of the unfortunate others. It turned out to be the star of this shot. Courtney and Steve are betrayed by their shadows as they lean in for a kiss behind the parasol.
When it comes to your special day, you can see that you don’t have to let the weather rain on your parade. Grab an umbrella, kick up your heels and go singing in the rain!
