Dark skies on your wedding day
Outdoor Weddings in Buffalo NY
Why Storm clouds are a good thing on your wedding day
The general rule of thought is to wish for that bright sunny blue sky for your wedding day. As a Buffalo and Western New York wedding photographer I don’t fear our frequent inclement weather, I embrace it. When you decide to have an Outdoor Wedding in Buffalo, NY nothing sets the stage for those dramatic and romantic wedding images like a bubbling storm cloud on the horizon. Give me an incoming front with its dark and low hanging clouds over a clear day with bright sun any day for a Buffalo NY wedding. Not to be misunderstood, I’m not opposed to a brilliant sun burst captured at F-22. I just prefer when it’s captured bursting forth through angry clouds dissipating from a passing super cell thunderstorm.
The same can be said for engagement photography and trash the dress photography as well. With these two photography genres it’s less risky and more fun to push our luck with the weather. In most cases the couples and photographers alike are casually dressed so getting caught in a downpour can be a fun part of the experience (as long as I bag up our Canon cameras and strobes). Is there anything more romantic than a couple in love getting caught in the rain?
Being a Buffalo New York wedding photographer is a fun and exciting way to make a living and our unpredictable weather is something to embrace and use to our advantage. So, do not fear Buffalo brides when the weatherman on the local news calls for dark skies on your wedding day. Put away the rosary beads and revel in the opportunity those clouds afford you. It’s a chance for FCI Photography to capture that “wow” shot that every bride covets on her wedding day!
